November 2022

With the increase in energy prices and the price of just about everything else, we are aware that some people might be looking for a warm space outside their home in which to spend some time this winter. So the church has arranged to open up the Hub every Thursday afternoon from 2.00-4.00 for folk to drop in for a cuppa, a chat or to play some board games, etc.  Some have already volunteered to come along and be with the minister in the Hub. If you would like to help out (main quality required is a desire to listen and chat to people), please let Gary know before the first session on Thursday 10th November. Alternatively, feel free to drop in yourself any Thursday.

After making do with online quizzes for the last two years, the famous Murrayfield Quiz Nights are back, albeit at a new venue. Our first "live" quiz is on Friday 11th November in the Ladywell Church Hall at 7.30pm. Admission is £4 and includes tea and biscuits, etc. The venue may be new but the question compiler and inquisitor certainly aren't! Invite your friends and neighbours. It should be a fun night - and you might even learn something!

We are once again supporting the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal. If you would like to pack a shoebox you can bring it along to the church service any Sunday up to 20th November, or if you would like someone to collect your shoebox please contact Ann Lomax (Tel No 811364). Alternatively, we have set up a Murrayfield 'Goal' Page on the Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child website and, if you have access to the internet, you can pack a shoebox online by using the following link

It's been a few years since our last congregational lunch, but now that we can eat together once more, a reservation has been made for 30 people for Christmas lunch at the Gallery Restaurant in Forth Valley College on Monday 28th November at 12.15pm. This is where we had our last Christmas lunch in 2019 and just upstairs (or lift) from where many of us had our covid vaccinations. The cost for a three course lunch (including tip) is £21. If you would like to go, please give your name to Ann Lomax by 16th November and money by Sunday 27th November.

The indoor walking group continues on Mondays and Fridays at 4.00pm on zoom - details from Jean Hastings.
